I Want. I Have.

I Want.... A bad ass motorcycle.

I Have. A new fisheye for my 7D. :)

My Ogio Atiba Mini Bag will be in next weekend. Then all the stuff for my new camera set up will be in my possession. I'm thinking about ordering some 32GB CF cards so I can hold more video. We will see. Still trying to figure out the fucking compression of this footage. It's damn tricky and I don't really like paying for softwear so..... we'll see how pissed off I get before I go to bed tonight. Haha.

I got a new job. I work at a Oil Rig Supply Warehouse called Moose Mountain Mud. I'm making $18 an hour and working 7 days on 4 off, 7 days on 3 off. The 4 always fall on Friday-Monday and the 3 are Monday-Wednesday. It's going really well so far. I have no complaints. It's quite physical so I really like that about it. I believe my Dad's exact words were "You'll have arms like Arnold Schwatz by Fall" hahah, I laughed when my mother texted me that.

Present!

This is board that I painted for Britt. She sucked the actual surprise out of me one night, but seeing the actual board was still a very big surprise. There is some history to this image. About 5 years ago or something, Brittainy asked me to draw her a tattoo of some pointe shoes. I searched the internet high and low to find out as much as I could about these 'special' shoes that she wore when she danced. (She is a dancer) I ended up drawing them in black and grey and she actually got the image I drew tattooed on her shoulder blade. So now, all this time later we start dating. Weird right. Perhaps, but awesome! Valentine's Day rapidly approaches and I take this whole painting on skateboards thing i've been doing for the last little while and mix it with something that has connections to both her and I. It took me 3 sittings to complete this board and I must say I think it's the best painting i've ever done. She loved it. I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day gift than the smile that was on her face when I gave it to her. It was a great weekend. I'll post more on it soooooon!

Photo Dump + Awesome News!

Sooooo. I've now sold both of my camera! My video camera to a friend (Joel Bone) for $400 with everything! Baby death included. I think it will go to a good home and get great use. I'm happy about that. I'm letting my Rebel XTi body go for $350 to a girl in Winnipeg. I creeped her Facebook and Flickr last night and she can shoot, so I am happy it to is going to a good home and will also get put to good use. So now that I am going to be left cam-less after this weekend that only means one thing!!!! While in Winnipeg this weekend I am going to buy a Canon 7D! It will be glorious. The fisheye is ordered and on the way. My handle will be here later tonight and I think today I'm going to order a new bag. I'll keep you all posted..... so pumped!

:)

Okay, so I may have just ordered the fish-eye. Yes, yes I did.

Wooooork!

Since I've gotten better from the flu that took over my life last week, I've been working like a savage. All weekend. 10-12 hour days. Which is good, because I'm making up for lost time, the good ole' OT (overtime) really helps for that.

I haven't skated in so long! I must make an effort to have a dungeon sesh sometime this week.

I finished another painting. This one is for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. I cannot post it though. I will after the big surprise. I cannot wait!! I really feel like it is the best painting I've done yet. :)

I made some big changes on the bank account this week. Consolidated some debt and just got everything set up a lot better. I closed a tax free savings account I had from ING Direct that had almost $600 in it. I'm gonna put that towards a new camera!!! A Canon 7D! I might even buy it this weekend when I'm in Winnipeg to see Britt for Valentine's Day. We'll see.

My parents are coming to town this weekend. As lame as it may sound, I'm excited to see them.

I've been thinking a lot about filming and photos lately and I can already tell that a lot of my money is going to go towards a new set up. My new setup is inspired by Steve Staffan. Nick Mullin's filmer as most people know him as.

I'll post a pic of his Rig and all the shit I have on my wish list. :)

PS. I had a mustache yesterday. It was awesome!

That's all for now. Here's some photos!!!!

Opteka X-Grip Handle. I ordered one and it will be here this weekend. It's the same as Steve's. (see the photo of his setup further down)
Glidecam SD.
Very Expensive, but would be sooooooo sick!

Catch Up Time.

Where to begin, good gosh. I'm at work right now. A slow morning. Just what I like. Kinda. This is my second day at work this week as I have been sick. Caught the flu somehow. Anyways, on to my weekend. Last Thursday after work I headed to Winnipeg. Got into town late and met my GF at a bowling alley. Hahah, it was pretty funny, she wasn't too psyched on the whole bowling thing so we jetted back to her place. Little bit of TV and chicken strips and we passed out. We had to get up at 5:30AM to make out 7AM flight to Toronto. That we did. Tired as fuck we made it. The flight was good. Some turbulence on the landing but it was good. We managed to make a seat swap that put us sitting beside one another. I don't mind being a shoulder to lean on. Especially when the one leaning on it is my tired girlfriend.

We make it to Toronto. John Edgar (an old friend and now dating one of my really good friends) and Jackie Lawres pick us up. We tour around Toronto for a bit and I realize there is zero fucking snow there. All I can think about is skating. I'm cursed. We go to this cool place to eat that reminds me of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. Solid food. We then headed to Vistek this MASSIVE camera store. I look for a Polish fisheye for my future Canon 7D.... Fingers crossed. They don't have it. Off we go to Barrie.

John is a mad man behind the wheel of his new Volvo. Britt and Jackie were scared for their lives when we hit the 401. Hahah, made for an interesting ride to say the least. We make it to Barrie. The tentative home of my friend Sydney. She is now dating John. It was her birthday yesterday, hence the trip. We get settled in and meet her 3 roommates, who, might I add are all fucking awesome. Not long after Britt and Syd head to the mall. I end up getting wasted, no thanks to John. The ladies get back and waste no time playing catch up. It was an early night! I puked a few times, Jocelyn fell down some stairs and put her head through a wall. Pretty interesting night to say the least. But I had fun and so did Britt, that's all that really matters.

Saturday. Slow day. Didn't do much all day, only to prepare for that night. The big one. We were going to the Bank. A snazzy club downtown Barrie. People starting coming over later in the night and the drinking began. Everyone was dressed up and having a good time. Flip cup was being played and boy did I suck. We finally made it to the Bank and I was feeling pretty awesome at that point. I was throwing out $20's like pennies. Dancing all night. Basically a new man. I had a blast though. Towards the end of the night Syd and Britt managed to get kicked out, that was the beginning to a long night. Some shit went down, stuff was said, everyone was drunk and I don't want to get into it. I'd say for the most part we had fun for a majority of the night.

Sunday morning was a little tense. Everyone made up eventually and things went on their way. We headed for Oakville later that day. This is where John lives. He has a super nice place and showed us some other amazing amazing houses. One that just happened to be the biggest in Ontario. Fucking HUGE. We were kinda all on empty at this point but we ended up going back to Toronto for a random tour of Much Music. I'm glad we went, we had a great time. Britt's eyes were wide open the entire time, it's awesome to see that. We meet some guys from Much and go our picture with them. It was a good mellow cap to a very interesting weekend.

Next morning up at 5:00AM and off to Toronto to fly home. Made it back to Winnipeg at about 9AM. We drove my frozen car back to Britt's and hit the bed for a looooong time. So tired! Woke up around 3. I went and got us McD's and picked up the Plan B board for her. I also grabbed myself some new shoes. Time flew an Britt had to be at dance for 5:00PM. We loaded up and I dropped her off. Sad to see her go as always but seeing her is better than not, right. Quick stop on my way out of the city at Katie's and I was gone. Open road and loud music all the way back to Manor.

I wanna thanks Sydney and John for the weekend. It was great! Happy birthday Syd, hope you had fun and liked your present. Thanks to Syd's roommates who were awesome and very welcoming to all of us! Thanks.

Photos.... yup.

My New Kicks. :)

I am sick.

I have somehow caught a flu. I'm dizzy just sitting here typing this. For that reason this is going to be short. Had a big, long, crazy weekend. Details to come once I'm feeling better. Wish me well. Later homies.
