Dryden

Today I went to Dryden with a few of my biker friends. It was just a day trip. I was the only skater on board. Mainly for photo and video purposes of course, as I don't have a good board and am still recovering from a broken wrist. It was a good time. Got some footage, got some photos. I had tons of fun. As you can see below I ripped open a old scab.... never fun. Back to work tomorrow. I have to go cash my cheque from Lakeland tomorrow. Go across to pick up my new boards and Berrics order. Get gas. Chill with my grandparents. Still busy ole me. It never ends.

Day At The Park.

I went skating after work today. Well I can't really call it skating when all that I have to skate is a filming board...with filming wheels and ollllllllllld trucks. But yeah... work with what you have. Work flew by, after working 14 10+ hour shifts, a 4 hour shift at Wal-Mart feels like a lunch break. Any-who; back to the skating. Got quite a bit of park footy today. Mainly of Chief killin' it, a line of Barnard and quite a few photos. They are posted on Facebook (shit quality)and Flickr (the best place to view them.... link on the right) . Here is a few that I was experimenting with on Photomatix Pro and making them HDR's. Enjoy!

What I'm Working With.

Back To Normal.... Kinda...

Alright. So the shut down work is ova! I got laid off Saturday. Made if really far for my first year doing it. I made over three grand in two weeks. We'll see what the cheque is after taxes though. My life is now sort of getting back to normal. I start back at Shit-Mart (Wal-Mart) tomorrow. I'm trying to get off Wednesday to go to Dryden with some bikers to do some shooting and video stuff for fun. We'll see how that pans out. My grandparents from Stratford, ON are coming here on Thursday for the long weekend. On Monday I'm heading out to Estavan, SK to do some video work for my brother's boss. He owns an oil drilling company... I hope to make a decent amount of cash out there. :) I've got 11 skateboards coming in the mail. 10 blanks from blankdecks.com. The "house special" I think.... 8.25" x 31.25".... I think. The other one is coming back on warrenty from ATM Click. Broke really weird and they are sending me a new one.... excellent! Oh, I also have the one I'm waiting on from The Berrics. The signed limited edition 1 of (now) 40 Plan B JP Ladd decks. Recently I've kinda been on a buying rampage. I got the newer Intel iMac. A 22" Samsung display for it. Some DVI cables to extend my desktop. New Lakia shoes a while back. I ordered a Battle At The Berrics DVD the other day. I'm thinking about buying another X-Box 360 for my bedroom so I can stream video content from my computer up to my room. (seems pointless, but they are only $150 on sale right now) So yeah..... should tame down the spending a tad. Hoping to get all this money and well maybe pay off my VISA. That would be amazing. I have a doctor's appointment in Thunder Bay at the end of October seeing how I missed/forgot about the checkup on the 22nd. My wrist still hurts a little, but I think it's getting better. This is all very random, but I'm just trying to get up to speed. I beat the new Batman game today. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. I tried to do some experimenting with HDR photography at night tonight.... I failed. Even after taking down the iso to 400, still waaaaay to much grain. It was really windy too... and my tripod kinda sucks. Oh well. I'm really feeling the photography stuff right now. Hope to have some new stuff up soon. I think I'm gonna upgrade my Flickr to a Pro account. There I go.... spending more money. Skating! Wow, I haven't been skating much. The shut down really boned me there. No time or energy. I feel like I've gained 50lbs because I haven't moved for so long. Once I get my boards, I'll be on a non-stop skating/filming mission to get as much in as I can before winter. Other than all this not much is new. Been downloading a lot of music and movies. Really into a hip-hop phase right now. I, however, have been listening to the new Kill Hannah today and really like it. Movies.... haven't really had time to watch any. Lots of TV being watched though. Dexter was amazing. CSI.... feel asleep at the end, but the intro was sick! The movie Antichrist.... wow. Worth a watch. William Dafoe was a shocker. The movie itself was well... shocking, to say the least. Well, that's it for now. This is enough babble and spelling mistakes for one day. Oh, and I might be headed to Kenora in the coming weeks to help a friend shot a commercial for a school project. Busy Busy Busy! Bye.

This Is What I've Been Up To.

No time to talk. Tired. Busy. The cycle never ends... well at least not 'till the 28th...

This is where I have been working for the past few days.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I start safety watch at the Mill tomorrow with Lakeland Security for the next two weeks. As far as I know i'll be working 12 hour shifts for the next 14 days. If you thought I was really sucking at updating this recently, it's about to get a lot worse. Haha, you've been warned.

Sept. 9th Entry.

Day off work. Didn't have much on the list to accomplish, and what little things I did want to do, I got done. It was basically a day of skating. I started it off getting up early and TK met me here. We did a little round up of supplies and got everything we needed to build a new pole jam.... we had everything except the pole. We eventually got one given to us, I'd like to say a big thanks to Keith Caul at Pryde's Plumbing! We then went to the local wanna be skate shop place. I was going to see if I could get a new board because my last one lasted two sessions and seems to be defected. I was told to deal directly with the company and ended up buying a new deck.... it cost $104 with tax..... shoot me! That's half of my last cheque spend on skate stuff..... good thing I love it and it's the only thing that keeps me sane, not to mentioned occupied in this place. Any who, we went to the park and built the new pole jam. It was a lot steeper and higher than the last. TK nearly died on it and I just couldn't land it. It kept shooting me so high up and the bottom half of my body couldn't commit. More skating went down as usual. We left the park for a bit, relaxed, ate, came home, and went back for round two. After seeing how the pole jam went we decided to "fix" it. A few alterations later, it was perfect. I was the only one who ended up doing it for today.... the first :). After skating was done, I chilled at the park then headed to Emo to meet up with Mike and Krista. We watched Big Brother and had a awesome supper. BBQ'd boneless ribs, BBQ'd potatoes, caesar salad and multigrain Tostitoes with homemade salsa dip stuff from Cloverleaf. After supper I hooked up and configured their new wireless router, played with their new kitten Berkley and watched some videos on YouTube, lol. Random night. I drove home in a crazy lightening storm and enjoyed the ride while blasting music waaaay too loud. I find myself very tired and sore and heading to bed as soon as possible. Tomorrow I have to be at the Abitibi Training Building by 9AM for the safety watch training then I work 2-10. Tomorrow is probably going to be a long and boring day. Can't wait.... I just keep thinking about the scrillaaaaa! G'night.

Catch Up Time!

Alright, so I've been REALLY busy lately. I'm trying to find a better job. Looking high and low. I'm skating as much as I possibly can. I just bought a Intel 19" iMac from a friend and have been stocking it up with everything from my old one. Not to mention cleaning off the old one. Burning many movies off my EXT HDD. I then reformatted my old iMac. I had a huge To-Do List this week and I'm happy to report almost everything is crossed off. I've been e-mailing people. Uploading and editing footage and photos. Building skateboard ramps/obstacles. Getting travel grants ready to mail. Helped my friend AG shoot a commercial at Revco Carpet. I've been busy. I've borrowed the new Batman game for X-Box 360 from a friend and haven't even put it in my system yet... I've had it since Friday. There are still things to be done, but I think I'm caught up for the most. In the past few weeks a lot has happened, but nothing interesting of course. I went to Thunder Bay and it was the longest day of my life. I basically drove 8 hours (alone) and waited 3.5 hours in a hospital (alone) for a 10 minute conversation with the doctor that I could have had on the phone. Whateva. Anyways, the cyst I have is not a problem at this point. That means, no going to Toronto for bone graphing.... YES! *fist pump*. As for work. Nothing came from Boston Pizza. Lame. I have to call a DVD Merchandising company back tomorrow, and I may have a lead on a job in the mining industry. *fingers crossed*. I have training for the mill safety watch this Wednesday and start that on the 14th for two weeks. So yeah.... switching things up a bit. Could use a well needed break from the big W. Ummm.... what else... Not much... I'm boring. Here's some photos..... :)

Oh So Very Busy....

Sorry to keep it short, but updating this is on my list of things to do. I have photos, stories, information... many things to share. I just don't have the time to do it right now! Maybe I'll wake up early tomorrow morning and do it before work.....
